I work with the actor Dan Li. As a British Asian actor he had secured a lead role in ITV Drama Series Red Eye. This was an exciting moment for Dan who had – since graduating from drama school – repeatedly been put up for roles which erred on the side of cliche. In his words – “a waiter or a gangster“.
It was important to allow Dan the chance to share his experiences as an actor and to celebrate a moment when he, and other British SE Asian actors, were given substantial roles in a peak time drama. We did this through a series of self-authored articles, appearances on panels and thought leadership.
