When Ralph & Katie arrived on screen I had already been privileged to meet and work with the most talented and diverse cast and crew ever. Five new writers all with different disabilities mentored by lead writer and showrunner Peter Bowker resulted in a phenomenally successful and much loved series. The first ever BBC Drama series with two actors with Down’s Syndrome at its heart and as its leads.
New ways of working built into our daily schedule to ensure that this became the most inclusive set on record and the learnings gained from this have already fed into my current and future projects.
